FAQ

Hide All

What is the schedule for registration day? Hide

Registration day is on Sunday, June 22. There is a registration for both day and resident campers from 1 to 3 pm. At 3 pm, there is an assembly for all campers and family to introduce the directors and counselors. Afterwards, everyone is invited to a barbecue. As families and day campers depart, the residents get settled in for the first night of activities. Day campers can register the following morning from 8:15 to 9:00 as well.

Can my child attend only part of the summer camp session? Hide

Stevenson camp is a five-week long summer session and the workshops and sports programs are planned and designed for the duration of those five weeks. Missing a significant amount of camp takes away from the camper's experience.

Can a day camper attend the weekend hiking trips? Hide

No, the weekend program is for resident campers only.

Is there transportation available for my day camper? Hide

Yes, the Stevenson transportation department can provide bussing service for local campers for an additional fee.

Is there transportation available to and from the airport for my resident camper? Hide

Yes, Stevenson camp can provide airport pick-up and drop-off at Monterey Airport only.

May I visit my resident camper during the session? Hide

Yes, of course you may visit your child at any time. If you are planning a visit to the area, call our office at 831.625.8349 so we can let you know of the best times for you to stop by. We recommend visiting in the evenings between 5 pm and 9 pm, though your camper may be reluctant to miss the evening activities.

Can my resident camper bring and use a cell phone during camp? Hide

Yes, we do allow cell phones at camp, though the camper may only use the phone during designated free times.

What is the weather like at Stevenson? Hide

During the summer in Pebble Beach the climate can vary greatly from dense fog to hot summer sun. Usually during the mornings, it is foggy but by the afternoon it becomes mild and sunny. Normal temperatures range between 65 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

Concerning the health form, does my child need to be seen by a doctor before attending camp? Hide

Yes, it is required that each camper see a physician to fill out the Physician Examination Form (page 4 of the enrollment packet.)

Is there a deadline for enrollment? Hide

Our enrollment deadline is May 15. If you wish to enroll after the deadline, please us or call us at 831.625.8349 to see if there is still availability. There is limited space for resident campers so it is recommended that you register early to ensure a space. There is no limit for day campers, though the May 15 deadline is recommended to all to ensure that campers get their choice of clinics and workshops.
